Week 3

Dear Second Grade Parents,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed that cooler weather. On Friday your child was sent home with their Spelling/Vocab Test and Math Test. Please talk to your child about taking their time and reading the questions carefully on tests. Sign and return both test on Monday. Also Scholastic book orders were sent home. You may order the books online by going to https://clubs2.scholastic.com/ and putting in the activation code on the front of your child's flyer. Ordering books through scholastic is an extra way for you to get books for your child at a great price! Also, these are books you can use for our Scholastic Reading Counts! program.

I am currently working on inputting all the info for Scholastic Reading Counts!. Please check your child's folder this week for their username and password.  Click HERE to preview the letter that will be going home with your child's username and password. I will also include how to log into BrainPOP Jr. I strongly suggest exploring Khan Academy. If you choose to sign your child up, it is free, add me as their teacher and I can keep track of their progress. My class code is YVFR64.

Next week we will be talking about community helpers.  If you are a community helper (doctor, nurse, firefighter, mailman, police officer, etc.) and would like to come speak to the class about your job, please let me know. We can set up a time. The exact day is Thursday, September 25th. I would love to have a couple parents come talk about their job as a community helper.
