Dear Parents,

     Please read the following announcements and reminders carefully.

     No homework this week. Finish up project and study vocabulary and spelling.

     Don't forget the Reading Fair Projects are due on Wednesday. Please send a change of clothes (school uniform) that your child can change into after the reading fair. 

     The SAT test has been moved. It will now be the week of May 4th - 8th.

 ANNOUNCEMENTS/REMINDERS:

  • Houston Zoo Field Trip (April 17th)
    • The elementary classes will be having field-trip in April to the Houston Zoo. The cost of the field trip is $17 (Due April 2nd) and this includes both admission to the zoo and a 45-minute class. Due to the classroom size and safety regulations, only students and teachers will be allowed to participate in the 45-minute class. However, parents are more than welcome to join in all other zoo activities. Please note that parents will need to purchase tickets separately.
  • EASTER CLASS PARTY - Thursday, April 2nd
    • Click HERE to sign-up for a food item and/or to volunteer for the class party.
  • EGG HUNT - Thursday, April 2nd
    • Please bring in 13 goody-filled eggs and a basket/bag to put your collected eggs. Candy is not the only thing you can put inside, but if you are putting candy... NO PEANUTS or PEANUT BUTTER PLEASE!!! We have allergies to these in our classroom.
    • Also, please simple label (permanent marker will do) all plastic eggs. Numbered from 1 though 13.
  • STANFORD TESTING - Monday (May 4th) through Friday (May 8th)
    • Testing will be on Monday, April 4th through Friday, April 8th. The fee for the test is $35 and needs to be paid by March 30th April 6th (extended). 
    • In the Stanford Test, a student is tested on various subjects such as reading comprehension, math problem-solving, language, spelling, listening, comprehension, science, and social science. 
    • Click HERE to sign-up for a special healthy snack to donate to the class during our test. So instead of next week. Wait to bring during the testing week.
  • PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES (Wednesday, April 29th)
    • I will be posting a sign up later this week.
  • EARTH DAY - (Wednesday, April 22nd)
    • In preparation for Earth Day, please bring in a plain washed white or green t-shirt by Wednesday the 8th. We will be decorating these next week.

Early Weekly Update

Dear Parents,
  
   I hope that everyone is having a wonderful spring break! Report cards will be sent home on the 27th. I will be out of town till Monday night. So I will not have a chance to reply to any e-mails until Tuesday.

Reading Fair and Weekly Blog Update

   Wednesday your child came home with a paper for the reading fair. The project is due Wednesday, April 1st. Please read over the paper carefully.  Dear Parents,
  • Thank you for the chili donations! :) Some of the students loved it! If anyone would like the recipe I can e-mail it to you. 
  • Don't forget State Reports are due tomorrow. 
  • This week they will have a new at home project that will not be due till the end of the month.

    • Your child is welcome to wear red or anything inspired by Dr. Seuss AND bring in their favorite Dr. Seuss book.
