Please make sure you are filling out your child's reading minutes each week in their planner. I can not stress how important it is do this it. I check it every week and it does count as part of their homework grade.
Your child came home with a math review for the test on Tuesday. Make sure your child is reading the word problems carefully, following the steps for word problems, and double checking their counting on the scales.
Word Problem Steps
1. Read the problem.
2. Underline the question.
3. Circle the key words.
4. Draw a picture (Bar models are perfectly fine.)
5. Number Sentence to solve
6. Reread the problem and question to double check if your answer makes sense.
